RALA Tools General Information

The following PowerPoint documents are meant to support you in your efforts to build a case for healthy built environments and the benefit of completing a Rural Active Living Assessment in your community.

Rural Active Living Assessment Tools: Codebook & Scoring

The Rural Active Living Assessment (RALA) Tools have been designed to help you collect data on physical environment features and amenities, community characteristics, community programs, and policies that could potentially influence levels of physical activity among residents in your community. The Codebook has been divided into separate files to help you consult the sections that best correspond with where you might be on your journey to conducting an active living audit of your rural community.
