Suggestion: develop your wellness activity around the skills and interests that already exist within your group. You may be surprised by what a multi-talented team they are!
A commitment that brings people together regularly over a period of time is a great team building activity.
Get others involved! Ask friends, acquaintances, co-workers and community leaders to help you organize a wellness initiative. Consider partnering with an anti-poverty group, seniors, or those with mental or physical challenges..

Diane Savoie was born in Moncton NB. At the age of 18, she began a 17 year career in the airline industry. During these years, Diane travelled extensively and tasted her way through new cultures and their foods.

An early retirement offer made it possible for Diane to pursue her dream of becoming a culinary professional.  She first completed a Cordon Bleu Diploma and went on to the Institute of Hotelerie and Tourisme du Quebec for two diplomas in baking, pastry, chocolate, ice cream and confectionery technologies. She continued to add to her culinary repertoire by studying Macrobiotic and Ayurvedic cooking and most recently, is peeking into the very interesting world of raw foods.

In between cooking stints, Diane managed a children’s theatre company in London, Ontario and was the Director of Operations for the Capitol theatre in Moncton, NB for 5 years. She opened the first artisanal chocolaterie in NB and brought a new insight into the world of chocolate to Moncton and the province.

These days Diane works as a part time Wellness Coordinator for HEPAC.  She is also a culinary activist, coach and teacher and especially enjoys working with children in the kitchen.  She is passionate about Slow Food, Local Food, Clean Eating and tackles her own issues with obesity with exuberance and joy.  She was recently invited to participate as a round table speaker at Vitalite Health Network’s first symposium on obesity and continues to work with the executive committee on this subject.

She lives on the beautiful Bouctouche river with her cat Mischief and enjoys the newly discovered pleasure of Nordic walking at the Dune de Bouctouche Irving Eco Center.
